27. Glory of Love, by Peter Cetera, from The Karate Kid, Part II (1986)
When you’re an unlikely karate champion trying to woo a beautiful dancer in Okinawa, Japan, you need a little help. For Daniel Caruso, that help came in the form of Peter Cetera’s swooning ballad, Glory of Love. The song was Cetera’s first single after leaving Chicago (the band, not the city), and unlike his first solo attempt five years earlier, it was a bigger hit than any Danielsan unleashed on the Kobra Kai. Cetera and Danielsan will both always be like a knight in shining armour.
Stats: Number 1 in the US, number 3 in the UK; Academy Award nomination; Golden Globe nomination.
Penalty Points: In the entire video, Peter Cetera does not do a single crane kick (although he does do some sexy hip work at the 4 minute mark).
Bonus Points: Wailing guitar solo; excellent to listen to whilst waxing on and off; it’s nice to know that Peter Cetera will fight for your honour.
